Accessibility

Built to be usable by everyone.

Grocery savings shouldn’t depend on how you read, see, hear, or move. This page states what we aim for, what’s in place today, and how to tell us where we fall short.

Our commitment

We aim for this website and the Cartly app to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Cartly is in testing, and accessibility work is part of the build — not an afterthought bolted on at launch.

What’s implemented on this website

  • Skip link: every page starts with a “Skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Semantic structure: landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), real headings in order, and lists marked up as lists, so assistive technology can navigate the way the page is organized.
  • Visible focus: links, buttons and disclosures show a clear focus outline, and interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard.
  • Reduced motion: entrance animations, scroll reveals and other motion are switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Contrast: text and controls are set in high-contrast colour pairs (deep green on cream, cream on deep green), checked against AA ratios for body text.
  • Responsive text: the layout adapts to narrow screens and browser zoom without hiding content.

Honest limits

Cartly is pre-launch and still being tested, so some parts — including parts of the app — may not yet meet the standard everywhere. When we find a barrier, fixing it is a defect to repair, not a nice-to-have. If you hit one before we do, telling us is the fastest way to get it fixed.

Tell us about a barrier

Email hello@cartlyapp.ca or support@cartlyapp.ca and tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We’ll reply, and we’ll treat accessibility reports as priority fixes.
